January 1989

Twenty years ago this month I was about to turn 18. It was my senior year and I had just returned from a trip to Reno for the best wrestling tournament ever! What a blast. Great memories! I wasn't dating Danny yet and I remember having the worst flu at the end of the month smack dab on my birthday. My birthday spent on a couch watching TV with my best friend Missy and two random guys we were dating at the time. Whoo, big fun!

Anyway, since my class reunion is coming up this summer I thought I woud take a look back 1989. So go ahead and get a good laugh at the photo and enjoy the music. These are songs that were in the Top 100 on the Billboard charts in January 1989.

NO HAIR COMMENTS...YOU KNOW YOU LIKE IT!

What is a Hot Hat?

What is a Hot Hat you might ask? Well let me tell you...it is the most SCRUMPTIOUS YUMMY sandwich ever! There used to be chain of pizza parlors called Straw Hat, now there are just a few left. There is one in Pleasanton, California. We always have to visit so Danny can have pizza and I can have a Hot Hat. Ham and cheese wrapped up in pizza dough baked in the pizza oven until it is GOOEY, DRIPPY and DELIGHTFUL! (and don't forget my pickle!)

Long live the HOT HAT!

My Friends!

Danny and I have the most wonderful group of friends back in California. It was one of the reasons it was so difficult to move. It started out with 7 girls in high school (for me anyway, some of the girls have been friends since childhood). 20 years later there are 9 girls counting my sister-n-law and 9 spouses (some of who I've known most of my life.) There are now 13 children added to the mix. We have been through a lot together and I treasure each and every one of them. It's always so nice to spend time as a group and individually when we are in town. We miss them a ton and can't wait until the next time we are together.

Shake Your Boodie!

It's A New Year

We had a wonderful time on New Year's Eve. We had friends over to Ray and Shiryn's house and pigged out on appetizers. What could be better? It was a great way to ring in the new year. I hope that everyone has a healthy, safe and happy 2009!
